Alan J Leimberger

Alan "Al" Leimberger, age 80 passed away on Friday, December 1st, 2023. He was born in Rochester, NY on June 24th, 1943. He is predeceased by his loving wife Peggy of 51 years, his parents Jim and Helen Leimberger and sister Alice Powell. He is survived by his daughters; Nancy (Dan) Babcock and Linda (Shawn) Toth, mother in law Genevieve Knapp. His beloved grandchildren; Michael Leimberger (Nicole Cummings), Jacob, Adriana, Breanne and Kaitlyn Toth; Alexandra and Aidan Babcock.

He is the oldest of seven children. Sisters, Susan (Hank) Wengender, Janet (Jeff) Weiss, Mary Ellen Johnson, Ruthie (Jim) Bianchi, and brother Tom (Janice) Leimberger. Alan was blessed with many nieces, nephews and very close friends.

Alan served our country in the Army Reserves. He was a graduate from RIT where his mathematical expertise helped him to secure an Engineering degree. He was a dedicated Xerox employee for 40 years and never missed a day of work. He attended Holy Cross Church on a regular basis where he assisted as an usher.

Alan was an avid bowler with the highlight of his career being a perfect 300 game during his weekly league. He was a huge sports enthusiast, a Cleveland Browns backer, a season ticket holder for many years for the Rochester Americans and Rochester Red Wings. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and never missing their games. He loved playing cards, golfing, going to the casinos and betting horses.

Alan was known for his generosity and infectious laugh. He was a devoted father, papa and loyal friend.

All are invited to Alan's celebration of life on December 8th 2023 from 4-7pm at Thomas Funeral Chapels. The final farewell Funeral Mass will be on December 9th 2023 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Church. The Mass will be livestreamed. https://www.holycrossrochester.org/index.php/stream

Alan will be deeply missed by his family, friends and anyone who was lucky to know him.
