Edna J. Yates (Janes)

Passed peacefully in the presence of her family after a long illness on December 10, 2024. Daughter of Walter Janes and Merrieanne (Muggridge, Boheen) Janes.  Predeceased by her brothers, George, Ray, & Robert Boheen. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Yates; sons, Dr. Charles (Maura), David, Michael (Michelle); 9 grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Dr. Curtis) Nelson; many nieces & nephews; favorite dog, Molly.

Edna is a descendent of one of the "First Families" of Greece. Edna was a graduate of Charlotte High School '57. Worked as office manager for psychiatrist Dr Joseph Lancia.  She enjoyed baking, listening to classical music, and loved her family and especially her grandchildren. 

Family & friends may call at Thomas Funeral Chapels, Friday December 20th from 2pm-5pm, with a Prayer Service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers please consider contributions to the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra  or WXXI Classical
