Passed peacefully September 27, 2021 at the age of 90. He is survived by his companion of 53 years, Ms. Joan Haegel; son Mario (Roseann), grandson, Dominick (Jamie); great-grandsons, Edison & Archer; grandson, Mario Jr; son, Michael (Diane); granddaughter, Laurie (Tony) Hasley; great-grandsons, Alec Dean, Nolan Dean; son, John C Sanna; grandson John Joseph (Sheena), great-granddaughters, Teagan, Gianna; grandson, Jamie (Sarah); Mario, Michael, & John C's mother, Dorothy Sanna; step-brother, Raymond (Joanne); step-sister, Rosemary (Oliver) Primelles; many cousins, nieces, & nephews; many friends & YMCA friends.
John worked for the RG&E for 42 years known by handle "658". He served in the Navy from 1948-1950, serving in Korea. John helped with the St. Anthony's Day Festivals. He was a coach for many years with Holy Cross Basketball both grammar and high school level, and with Holy Cross Baseball-fast pitch. He was a long time member of the Charlotte Social Club. Lifelong resident of the Village of Charlotte, known to many as Captain John.

Funeral Mass Monday October 4th, 10:30am, Holy Cross Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No prior calling. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Holy Cross.
