John Louis Grosshans

Born October 4,1933; passed away surrounded by family March 17, 2023. John resided in and near Charlotte, NY -- a lifelong Lakesider. He was predeceased by parents Raymond "Dutch" Grosshans and Thema Fien Grosshans, and by brothers Raymond A. and Joel A. As a young man, he worked for his parents delivering ice and coal, selling Christmas trees, and supporting their seasonal diner next door to the Charlotte Abbott's. In the early 1950s, he began a nearly forty year career in Kodak's roll coating division. A lifelong sportsman and marksman, John competed in archery as well as trap and skeet shooting, and took numerous North American big game trophies. He will miss having breakfast at the Parkside Diner and making rum cakes for the guys at the gun club.

He is survived by: his loving wife Lucretia and three children, Raymond R. (Josara), Janice M., John T. (Denette); stepchildren, Kimberly (John), Joellien, Lorrie; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
