J.R. Law Sr. was born 10-8-1950 in Moultrie, GA to his parents LA & Pearlie Law. The family moved to Avoca, NY where JR attended Avoca Central School. After high school, J.R. enlisted in the US Air Force where he served from 1969-1973. During his service, he survived being a P.O.W while serving in the Vietnam War. After service, he moved to Rochester, NY where he was employed at Kodak until his retirement. In his need to stay busy, he began working for Regional Transit Service as a Mechanic and ran a successful funeral escort business for many years. In his spare time, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He also loved working on and detailing cars and owned a 1971 Monte Carlo in which he entered in and won many car shows.
J.R. met and married Jacqueline Siebert on July 2,1977. He has two sons, Stanley Law and J.R. Law Jr. J.R. is predeceased by his loving wife, Jacqueline Law, father LA Law, and sister Dorothy Law.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Pearlie Law, two sons, Stanley (Desiree), J.R. Law Jr, 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters: Grace Anne Law, and Hazel (Kirk) Larson. Brothers Jerry (Alicia) Law, Russell (Tanya) Law, James Leroy (Juanita) Law. One Goddaughter Natasha (Omar) Collins and a host of many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He leaves behind wonderful memories that will always be in our hearts. J.R. will be truly missed.
The Law Family with like to thank Canandaigua VA Medical Center staff for their care and support of J.R.
Due to the Covid pandemic the family will not be holing any repasts (gatherings) after the funeral service.
