Kathy was a founding member and Vice President at BrightStar. She volunteered countless hours, helping rescue, foster, and place her beloved German Shepards with forever homes. She had a heart of gold.. The family has been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support from the community and wanted to share one of the first posts they saw that meant so much to them.
From Cheryl Haag
"Another amazing rescue friend gone too soon.
I believe that the burden carried from what volunteers have seen in rescue weighs on the heart, and God mercifully calls some home a little early in order to give them the rest and peace they were denied on earth.
I can safely guess that Kathy saved hundreds and hundreds, but likely it was thousands, of dogs in her life. She had a special gift for the most difficult dogs that others had given up on.
My dogs always loved spending time at Aunt Kathy's when we were away and always came home with better manners.
Rest easy friend, you will be greatly missed by man and beast"
