Passed away peacefully April 21, 2025. She is predeceased by her parents, Frank & Josephine Angelini; beloved husband of 61 years, William Urtis; brothers, Dominic & James Angelini; sister, Lucy (Angelini) Scarlata; twin sister, Carmel (Angelini) Brongo; dear son, Michael Urtis; and many dear friends.
Mary is survived by her loving sons, William, Robert (Theresa), Thomas, James; 7 dear grandchildren, Sophia, Angelina, Michael, Nicholas, Isabella, Francesca, James; many loving relatives, friends, nieces & nephews, with a special thanks to nephew Joseph Scarlata and his wife Paty who were an important part of Mary’s life.
Mary was born in Rochester NY on April 18, 1931, she was raised & lived here all her life. Her grade school education was received at Holy Rosary School and her high school education at Nazareth Academy where she was taught by the nuns to obey the Ten Commandments and live by the Golden Rule. She studied Music for 12 years and graduated in Piano & Secretarial Practice. Mary spent many years as a caretaker for the elderly until their peaceful deaths in their own homes. After suffering many losses in her life, she found her solace in her beautiful garden. Mary received the Gardner of the Decade Award from the Mayor in the year 2000.
All are invited to attend Mary’s Celebration of Life Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Church on Saturday May 3rd at 9:30am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No prior calling. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mary’s memory may be directed to Holy Cross Church
