Norbert J. Minch Jr.

Norbert J. Minch, (Norm), a longtime resident of Clarkson, NY passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on December 18, 2024 after a courageous battle with dementia.

Norm was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Ann.

Survived by his three children, Michelle (Robert) Wolfe of Emmitsburg, MD, Melinda (Jeff) Petter of Williston, VT, and Darryl (Carrie) Minch of Clayton, NC.

Grandchildren, Carolynne Fitzpatrick, Jameson (Sarah) Fitzpatrick, Danielle (Harlan) Vitoff, Nathan (Kristina) Petter, Jennifer Brooks, Eric Minch (Samantha).

Great-grandchildren, Maddy and Maverick Fitzpatrick, Zera Vitoff, Grayson and Cooper Minch.

Sister-in-law Judy Dolecki and her family in the greater Buffalo, NY area.

Norm was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of Alfred State College.

Norm was a long-time resident of Greece and Clarkson, NY. He was a proud, long-term employee of 3M company and built his own very successful architectural design business. During his lifetime he served many families in the Monroe County area by designing their new homes and small businesses. He gladly volunteered his talent to the Clarkson, NY Historical Society to help restore historical structures to their original beauty.

Norm loved the outdoors and loved to spend time with his lovely wife gardening, golfing, cross-country skiing and tailgating in the Buffalo Bills parking lot. He was an avid history buff and loved to read Barron’s weekly financial newspaper to help him keep up with current events in corporate America.

A celebration of life will be held on January 26th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Chapels, 4545 Lake Avenue, Rochester, N.Y. A gathering of his friends and family will take place the same afternoon from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Red Fedele’s Brook House, 920 Elmridge Center Drive, Greece, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Norbert & Shirley Minch Endowed Scholarship at Alfred State College, or to The Staff Appreciation Fund at The Village at Unity (make checks payable to "Resident Council at Unity" and mail to The Village at Unity Staff Appreciation Fund, C/O Resident Council President, 1477 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626).

A private inurnment will take place on January 27th at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
