Thomas F. Lewis

It is with deep sorrow and much love that Tom's family and friends announce his passing on September 24, 2024 at the age of 67.

Tom worked for many years in the automotive industry and will always be remembered for his knowledge, skills and ability to diagnose, repair and modify anything mechanical. 

He retired after 30 years from the University of Rochester, Laboratory for Laser Energetics in June, 2023. Tom loved music and spinning vinyl, working on his 1974 Z-28 Camaro, woodworking, racing slot cars on his personally designed track and household projects. He loved family traditions, cooking, and just living a peaceful life.

Predeceased by his parents, William and Eleanor, he is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl and cherished son, Liam. Tom will be dearly missed by his siblings, Patti (Terry) Browne, Mark(Stacey) Lewis, Sarah(Tony) Costanza, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends he considered as brothers. The family will forever be thankful to the staff at URMC 8-3600 and Wilmot 5 for their exceptional dedication and care.

Please join the family on Saturday, October 5th at 10:30 AM for his Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Tom's memory to the Golisano or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
